"...This is when the universe comes down, puts her hands on your shoulder and pulls you close and whispers in your ear, I’m not fucking around, you’re HALFWAY TO DEAD. You’re armor is keeping you from the gifts I’ve given you, that is not without penalty. Time is up. So this is what you see happen in midlife. It’s not a crisis, it’s a slow, brutal unraveling. This is where everything we thought protected us keeps us from being the partners, the parents, the professionals, the people that we want to be."

Meet your Host

Hey Friends!

I’m married to my high school sweetheart and have 3 grown-ass kids. They are all amazing…most likely not because of me, but despite me.

I live in Illinois, which means I was raised on flat ground and prefer to leave uphill walking to others. It also means that I drink pop, not soda, and I know what “knee-high by July” means. You go to the basement during a tornado, I watch from the porch.

I consider myself an extroverted introvert. Basically, that means I love to hang out and have a good time, but small talk annoys me and I need copious amounts of alone time.

I love my animals. I subscribe to the idea that “If my dog doesn’t like you, I don’t either” Ask the FedEx man, he knows. If we hang out, and you plan on me not having animal hair on my clothes… I will disappoint.

One of my biggest pet peeves? People who say they have “No Regrets”. Really? Nothing? Not even that perm in 5th grade? Your life has been perfect? Good for you…and also, we can’t be friends.

I’m a giver. I would rather give than receive any day of the week. Furthermore, I believe if you can help, you should. I have a passion for helping traumatized children NOT get lost in the system as a CASA volunteer.

I’ve experienced a lot in my life. Leaning into spirituality has helped me heal old scars, reclaim my inner peace, and connect with God in the most amazing ways. Want to hear about it? Then don’t miss an episode, we’re going to peel it back like an onion, layer by layer. Join me as I have honest conversations about all things spiritual, the struggles of aging, and becoming better fucking people. This isn’t a “we wear pink on Thursdays” situation. You can sit with us.
